Hercus Blomerus Carbon Fibre Handle w/DamaSteel Bolster
A Member of the Knifemaker's Guild of Southern Africa since 2005.
Herucus Blomerus was born in 1958 in Uptington, and grew up in Pretoria. From an early age he was interested in knives, and as a young boy his pocket money used to go towards buying knives, to the extent that his collection grew to over three hundred knives.
In 2000 he made his first knife together with his nephew Burt Maree and it was not long before this interest in handmaking knives, and the building of his own knifemaking machinery, was taking up all his free time.
In 2001 Herucus attended his first knifemaking course with Freek Morsner, and then in 2002 participated in Andre Thorburn's courses on both fixed blade, and folding knife making. During that time he developed his own designs for biltong, hunting and pocket knives, and enjoyed success in marketing them. Herucus also became a member of the "Sharp Shapes Knife Club".
