KA-BAR didn't change the original design, they expanded upon it with Kraton G handles in a fighting/utility knife. The high-carbon, non-reflective black blade is epoxy powder-coated and tests prove the finish is more durable than ever. The classic oval shape of the original KA-BAR remains and has been modernized with a material nearly impervious to sweat, chemicals, water and wear. This heavy-duty chopper gets it is shape from it is older sibling, the Kukri Machete. At about 80% the size of the larger version, the Combat Kukri performs just as well at clearing brush and small tree limbs. it is smaller profile makes it a little easier for toting around - at just shy of a pound, it is a more appropriately sized tool for combat carry as well.
