Stylish and contemporary, the Shun Classic Line features a striking flowing pattern of the layered steel, top performance, razor-sharp VG-MAX cutting core, that's clad on each side with a protective 34 layers of stainless Damascus cladding each side - 68 total, supporting the core, adding stain resistance and assisting food release from the blade. The Shun Classic's blades are thinner, lighter and less tiring to use than the traditional European style drop forged chef's knives.
The Japanese Steels are hand-ground to an angle of 16 degrees for a durable, razor sharp blade that maintains an excellent cutting edge and does not requiring excessive re-sharpening.
An elegant, tapering handle made of asymmetrical Ebony PakkaWood, features a D-shaped design throughout the handle, with a distinctive ridge running down the side of the handle, comfortable for both left and right handed users and assists with proper finger placement as well an easy, secure grip.
