Historically, the Wakizashi meaning "side inserted sword" was one of the traditionally made Japanese Swords worn by the Samurai class in feudal Japan. The Wakizashi was worn together with the Katana as the official sign that the wearer was a Samurai or swordsman of feudal Japan.
The esteemed Black Crane styled Tsuba/guard in black iron, compliments the handle wrap/Tsuka-ito in black Japanese cotton over a decorative ray skin.
The textured black baked aluminium scabbard/Saya, features a high gloss finish.
