Marto Masonic Sword - Grand Apprentice
Before the door of all lodges stands a Tiler (Tyler) "with a drawn sword in his hand."
"To Masonry the sword is an emblem of power and authority, never of blood or wounds or battle or death. Only when thought of in this way is it consistent with the rest of the symbols of Masonic gentle Craft and wins obedience to the mandates of the Tiler by brotherly love, an infinitely stronger power than strength of arm, point of weapon or bright and glittering steel!"
FreeMasons use swords in all their ceremonies and this Masonic Sword compiles with many of the symbols used, the compass and square set, the plumb line and the hammer, the sacred book and the eye of the Supreme Being.
The custom crafted guards, hilt and pommel are cast metal, and feature elaborate inlays in bronze and silver plating depicting symbols of the Masonic tradition. The disk shaped pommel frames a five pointed star intertwined with a capital "G" of the Great Architect.
Marto was founded in 1961 in the old district of Toledo and certifies all swords are designed, developed and manufactured in Toledo-Spain by it's skilled and recognised artists, craftsmen and sword masters that join traditional handicraft with the most modern techniques and manufacture the finest decorative swords available in the world today.
