Harris Engelbrecht began making knives as a part-time hobby in 1996. Over the past two decades he has developed his own distinctive designs, including biltong knives, hunting knives, pocket folders, and daggers. In recent years he has begun showcasing his work at knife exhibitions such as Huntex and in the earlier years at the Brooklyn Knife Show. Harris approaches each knife as a self-contained, structural part of every element, the blade, handle and bolsters are designed as part of a unified whole. Particular attention is given to handle materials with strong natural patterns, allowing the design to flow with the character of the material. All designs and craftsmanship are executed by Harris himself, driven by a passion for precision work, refined detail, and exceptional finish.
