A member of the Knifemakers' Guild Of Southern Africa since 2007.

'I was born, raised and still currently living in the heart of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa. I started making knives in 2005 and work in a one man shop and built most of the machines myself.'

Very few knifemaker's have the technical mind of a machinist, the skill of an artist, and JD's talent.

JD is continually inspired by nature and uses various kinds of wood, bones, horns and mammoth teeth, Ti or fossil ivory handles.

JD specializes in fixed blades, utility knives and folders for the collector as well as the user.
