The microorganisms cannot pass through the pores of the 0.2 microns ceramic filter because of their size that's greater than 0.2 microns = 0.0002 mm.

Unlike disposable filters, the ceramic can be cleaned several times, even in the field. Swift with an output of 1 litre/minute through a silver-impregnated ceramic filter, with a capacity up to 50'000 litres, depending on the water quality.
