Sir Francis Drake, an English naval vice admiral (1540 - 1596), navigator, slaver runner and politician of the Elizabethan era. Drake is famous for the second circumnavigation of the world in a single expedition, awarded knighthood in 1581 and in 1588 second-in-command of the English fleet against the Spanish Armada. A hero to the English, but a pirate to the Spaniards to whom he was known as El Draque (Spanish, 'The Dragon').

A high quality sword from the exclusive 'Historical Swords' Collection manufactured by Marto. The steel blade features insignia with an elaborate special acid etching in black. The guards, hilt and pommel are cast metal, featuring an eye-catching two-tone black and silver engraving.
