Neels Roos began his journey into knifemaking after retiring, driven purely by curiosity and passion. 'In November 2004, I built my first belt grinder using plans I found online and taught myself the art of knifemaking the same way,' he recalls. From the very beginning, Neels was committed to creating truly unique, once-off knives, each one a complete expression of his own vision and craftsmanship.

By 2009, his dedication to refinement led him to import professional engraving tools from the U.S. He once again taught himself, this time mastering hand engraving through online resources and the support of fellow artisans on engraving forums.

Since then, Neels has found great fulfilment in crafting original engravings across both fixed blades and liner lock folders. Every piece he creates is a one-of-a-kind work of art. He is proudly assisted by his wife, Corinne, his most trusted critic and collaborator, who handcrafts each sheath to match the quality of his knives.

Neels personally sources premium materials, including Damasteel and exquisite mosaic Damascus steel from renowned bladesmith Ettore Gianferrari. 'I’m constantly inspired by the artistic talents of our local knifemakers,' he says. 'It’s a privilege and an honour to be part of this incredible knifemaking community.'
