No automated machinery is used in the process of creating the knives - all knives are finely crafted by hand.

Lyon specialises in practical, handmade hunting and folding knives, expressing his love of nature in the use of African hardwoods as well as other natural materials, such as animal horn, giraffe bone and warthog tusk for the handles of the knives. This does, however, not preclude the use of synthetic materials such as micarta, C-Tek, corian etc - some for durability, beauty, ease of maintenance, but all of them interestingly crafted.

Some models are supplied with cattle hide sheaths, hand stitched and crafted to custom-fit each knife.
